Ben Jonson's The Alchemist
William Sherman received a fellowship to edit one section of the six-volume Cambridge Edition of the Works of Ben Jonson. The edition will contain Jonson's complete prose, verse, and drama works and will appear in 2005.
Bibliography and Index of English Verse, 1559-1603
Steven May is creating a database that contains a bibliography and first-line index to more than 30,000 English poems printed or circulated in manuscript from 1559 to 1603.
The Byrd Edition
Philip Brett has published a critical edition of the works of Elizabethan composer William Byrd, replacing a long out-of-print and inaccurate edition of Byrd's music.
The Complete Works of St. Thomas More
The final volume of the fifteen-volume edition includes the English statesman's poem for a series of painted hangings in his father's house, and a lament for Elizabeth of York, wife of Henry VII.
English Short Title Catalogue
A bibliography and union catalog of works printed in the British Isles or territories from the invention of printing through 1800 is being prepared by the University of California, Riverside, and will be available online and on CD-ROM.
