Invest in Success is the theme of the Student Giving Campaign 1999-2001! Never before in the history of AAFCS has there been a student giving campaign. But students are our future; therefore, shouldn't they have a voice in the future of our association?

The Student Giving Campaign is designed to give students a voice and to instill in them a spirit of philanthropy. Because more than one-fourth of the operating budget for the Association comes from individual donations, each gift is important in setting the direction for the future. Whether a gift of $ 10 or $10,000, each contribution is valued as an investment in the future of the Association and the profession.

Equally important as a gift is the development of a giving philosophy and a caring capacity. As a profession concerned with the quality of human life, we have a responsibility to our students to instill in them the importance of philanthropy. Research has shown that when a spirit of giving is developed early, students or young professionals are likely to continue giving and feel more ownership for the profession. Through giving, each of us directs and guides the activities of the Association and becomes a true partner. …
