Wisdom is a popular topic among scholars in positive psychology and is considered an important character strength. There are several definitions for wisdom. It is identified by positive psychologists as a multi-dimensionalconstruct, as it includes concepts such as experience, openness, humor, emotional management, reflection, and thinking (Webster, 2007). Others have defined wisdom as a trait that includes different dimensions, including cognitive, emotional, and reflective dimensions (Ardelt, 2003). Other definitions include the ability to show good management between cognitive and emotional abilities, which in turn is reflected through good behaviors in response to various life situations (Alobidi, 2015).

Sherideh (2015) defined wisdom as including various social and emotional dimensions, such as self-awareness, emotional management, self-control, life skills, and the willingness to leam. Wink and Staudinger (2014) stated that wisdom includes pleasant and genuine relationships with other people, being independent, autonomy, caring for others, and being open to new experiences and knowledge.

Another significant definition of wisdom was asserted by König and Glück (2013) who found that wisdom involves appreciation and respect of life experiences, especially those that result from negative events. Reflection and difficult life experiences play important roles in the development of wisdom. Wise people think deeply about experiences and are able to integrate them into their views of themselves and to develop through them (Ardelt, 2005). Wisdom also involves a mature understanding oflife and its conflicts (Hu, 2016).

Wisdom positively impacts people's lives by helping them perform well in various aspects oflife (Alobidi, 2015). For instance, wisdom is an important skill that helps people interact with others and solve problems, which in tum requires obtaining an adequate level of knowledge to acquire these skills (Rathore, 2016).

Wisdom differs based on age, as it has been argued that older age groups are wise (Königand Glück, 2013; Wink & Staudinger, 2014) but recent research found that younger age groupsalso acquire wisdom becauseit is the product of knowledge, skills, and experience. Thus, attending university is significant because students form personalities and increase growth through their studies (Alobidi, 2015; Gilmore, 2014; Sherideh, 2015). Students benefit from university life, as it requires students to acquire additional skills and knowledge to adapt to new environments. Wisdom assists in solving problems, constitutes a meaningful life, aids in applying knowledge in real-world situations, and increases academic performance (Rathore, 2016).

Wisdom is an important construct among university students that has gained attention from researchers in positive psychology. It has been highlighted by other studies as an important psychological construct that is linked to several factors. For instance, a study by Alobidi (2015) examined the relationship between wisdom and happiness among a sample of 365 students from the University of Baghdad. The sample included 175 male and 190 female students in their first to fourth years of studies. The author used two questionnaires, which were designed for the study. The findings showed that the students had a good level of wisdom and that no significant differences were found between male and female students. The study also found that age was not a significant factor, as most students from different ages had the same level of wisdom.

Another study was conducted by Sherideh (2015) who investigated wisdom among 301 university students of scientific and humanistic colleges in Um AlQura in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The sample consisted of 152 males and 149 females. The findings showed that students had a moderate level of wisdom because students benefited from previous experiences and learned when to use specific skills. This study also revealed positive relationships between metacognitive thinking and wisdom and their dimensions. …
