Labor relations judge rules against Giant Eagle in complaint

A judge for the National Labor Relations Board ruled that O'Hara grocer Giant Eagle violated federal law during its interactions with seven employees as they prepared to vote on whether to join a union. At Giant Eagle's Settlers Ridge store in Robinson, members of the catering department voted in 2016 on joining the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 23. In a statement, Giant Eagle said, "While we are unable to comment on this pending litigation, Giant Eagle does plan to file exceptions and an appeal in response to the administrative law judge's decision."

Orbitz says legacy travel site likely hacked, affecting 880K

Orbitz says one of its older websites may have been hacked, potentially exposing the personal information of people who made purchases online between Jan. 1, 2016, and Dec. 22, 2017. The current Orbitz.com website was not involved in the incident. Orbitz is now owned by Expedia Inc. of Belleview, Wash. Orbitz said about 880,000 payment cards were affected.

Amazon said to consider buying some Toys R Us stores

Amazon.com has looked at the possibility of expanding its retail footprint by acquiring some locations from bankrupt Toys R Us Inc., according to people with knowledge of the situation. The online giant isn't interested in maintaining the Toys R Us brand but has considered using the soon-to-be-vacant spaces for its own purposes, said the people. Such a move would follow the acquisition of Whole Foods Market Inc. and its more than 450 locations last year. …
