THE LIGHT SOURCE INC: Builds Decades of Experience and Quality into Fixture Design


The Light Source LED fixtures are designed based on the experience gained from 45 active years of television lighting, theatrical productions, concert touring, facilities lighting design, lighting systems installations, and manufacturing, while observing what did and did not work, and analyzing what would make our fixtures better. Along with the lighting and design knowledge, The Light Source has been manufacturing for 25 years. The experience gained from these endeavors has given us an edge in manufacturing the world's best LED light fixtures.

The Light Source LED fixture design is all about quality. Making this fixture the very best, not the cheapest, drives every design decision. The Cree LEDs we selected have an extremely pleasing look that far exceeds their CRI values. The LED phosphors contain the full visible color spectrum and produce a light output that is very close to an incandescent lamp. Most people can't tell the difference. We carefully choose the color bins for each LED module to maximize the color temperature consistency from fixture to fixture. Our new patent-pending four-color LED modules improve the optical qualities of our fixtures. The optical design of The Light Source fixtures enhances our singlesource look. We have taken thermal management to its practical limits with our large passive heat sinks, copper LED PCBs, and special thermal interface materials. The Light Source LED fixtures run cool without fans. Cool running LEDs produce longer lasting, brighter, and deeper saturated colors. The incredibly smooth dimming performance of The Light Source LED house light continues to lead in the entertainment industry. Our fixtures truly fade all the way to zero following the most popular incandescent dimming curve. DMX cables can be hidden on our pendant style fixtures by using our DivCon stem mounting system, in which power and data run in separate channels.

The Light Source printed circuit boards (PCBs) are manufactured solely in the USA and are fully RoHS compliant. The SMT electronic components in our fixtures are placed onto the PCBs by our stateof-the-art, tier one pick-and-place machine. …
