[BEN] GREET PLAYERS. The Ben Greet Players (also known as the Woodland Players when performing outdoors) originated in England in 1886 and made its first appearance in the United States in 1902, beginning a series of tours, often with multiple companies, which continued through 1918. The group returned to the United States in 1921 and mounted another series of tours from 1929 to 1931.
