MIGUEL A. SANTOS is an Associate Professor of Ecology and Biology at Baruch College of the City University of New York. As the coordinator of the Environmental Studies Program he has developed a series of courses and seminars on environmental issues. He received his Ph.D. in Ecology and Zoology from Rutgers-The State University of New Jersey and J.D. from the Law School of Rutgers University. Dr. Santos is an interdisciplinary scholar, with research interests in biology, ecology, environmental sciences, and law. In addition to publishing numerous articles in scholarly journals, he is the author of Ecology, Natural Resources, and Pollution; Genetics and Man's Future: Legal, Social, and Moral Implications of Genetic Engineering; Laboratory Manual for Environmental Studies; and Ecology, Environment, and Society. Dr. Santos has served as a scientific-legal consultant for both research and industrial organizations.
