Alexander W. Astin is Allan M. Cartter professor of Higher Education and Director of the Higher Education Research Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is also the founding director of the Cooperative Institutional Research Program, an ongoing longitudinal study of the American higher education system involving more than 9 million current and former students, 200,000 faculty and administrators, and 1,500 institutions.
Karen Hardy Cárdenas is Professor of Spanish at South Dakota State University. She is the coauthor of the introductory Spanish text, Para Empezar and has worked with educational technology as both an instructor and an administrator. She is currently working on developing professional webcourses for teachers.
Brian L. Fife is Associate Professor of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University -- Purdue University Fort Wayne. He is the author of School Desegregation in the Twenty-First Century: The Focus Must Change and Desegregation in American Schools: Comparative Intervention Strategies as well as several articles on education policy in the United States.
Joseph Losco is Professor of Political Science at Ball State University. He has published in the areas of political theory and public policy and is the author of Human Nature and Politics.
