EVALUATION OF CVS PROJECTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FUTURE PLANNERS AND IMPLEMENTERS

Part I presented conceptual foundations and the contemporary context of critical viewing skills projects. From them were drawn principles and criteria for assessing CVS programs described in Part II. In Part III, chapter 11 employs quantitative listings to measure those projects against the criteria, profiling their relative emphases and strengths. (Some readers may prefer to skim or skip entirely this quantitative analysis of data, directing their attention instead to the interpretive analysis in the following chapter.) Chapter 12 offers a qualitative review of projects, noting patterns among CVS projects which can guide curriculum designers to resource materials appropriate to their contexts. Chapter 13 presents a final summary and some recommendations to those planning and implementing television media studies.
