DANDY DIXIE MINSTRELS. Minstrel troupe, active 1906/8. Apparently organized in Dallas, TX, where the troupe twice perfd. Also toured Canada, 1908. Featured players included * Mack Allen (high wire), * Maizie Campbell (singer), * James Crosby (eccentric dancer), * John Rucker ("the Alabama Blossom," comedian-singer), the * Toni Trio (acrobatic team), and * W. S. Wooten ("the Tennessee Tenor"). The 1906 show featured a sketch, "A Partner Wanted," with Williams & Stevens, and an afterpiece, "A Fowl Deed," involving a purloined chicken, with Rucker (as Judge Yazoo) and Crosby (as Captain of the Skidmore Guards). The orchestra was dir. by Prof. Robert Leach.
