General Motors has developed a corporate-wide internal communications program designed to achieve greater understanding and support from all employees in attaining Corporation goals. The purpose of this letter is to affirm the importance of this activity and to encourage your support in achieving continuing improvements.In today's critical business and social environment, effective two-way communications between management and employees is needed if we are to have the full support of the entire General Motors team--both on and off the job--in several key areas:
Better communications will encourage our employees to make a greater contribution to our organizational goals simply because they will have a clearer understanding of these goals and what they mean to their own well being.
More effective communications will stimulate increased ideas from employees to help us run the business more efficiently.
