JAMES BALOG is Chairman of 1838 Investment Advisors in Philadelphia and of Lambert Brussels Capital Corporation in New York. He has had a lifelong involvement with the U.S. health care industry, both as an industry analyst and as a policy expert. In 1981 Mr. Balog was Committee Chairman for the White House Conference on Aging, and he was appointed by President Reagan to the Pepper Commission in January 1989.

His previous works include Supply-Side Portfolio Strategies (coauthored with Laffer; Quorum , 1988) and Currency Substitution: Theory and Evidence from Latin America (coauthored with Gerald Nickelsburg).
