Thomas Gordon: Teacher Effectiveness Training
A licensed clinical psychologist, Thomas Gordon ( 1918-) has served on the faculty of the University of Chicago and is the founder and president of Effectiveness Training, an education corporation that operates a network of professionals in thirty-one countries offering training programs for parents, teachers, administrators, and leaders in business, industry, and organizations of every type. Thomas Gordon's master's thesis advisor at Ohio State University was 3 -- hence the Rogerian influence shown in his work. Gordon book P.E.T.: Parent Effectiveness Training ( 1970) has sold close to two million copies. His other books, including T.E.T.: Teacher Effectiveness Training ( 1974), apply his Effectiveness Training model to targeted audiences. As an active writer, with new Effectiveness Training book published in 1993, Sales Effectiveness Training ( Zaiss & Gordon), he almost single-handedly continues to represent a Rogerian view of management -- classroom, home, and industry.
