for several journals. She was elected a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1993 and is listed in American Men & Women of Science 1995-96. She was awarded the American Mathematical Society's Steele Prize for Exposition in 1994. This award recognized her book, Ten Lectures on Wavelets. Daubechies is an outstanding scientist who has made lasting contributions to the fields of mathematics and physics. She is married to A. Robert Calderbank and has two children, Michael and Carolyn.
