It should be noted that although we found statistically significant differences in teacher attitudes based on a number of factors--length of service, union membership, school culture, and partisan beliefs--these differences generally were not very large. For example, although non-union teachers were more favorably disposed to the two school choice reforms than were union members, nevertheless both groups still opposed both vouchers and charter schooling. Overall, the evidence suggests that the teachers surveyed generally shared similar views on most education reform issues.
