Gains in the Soviet Standard of Living Under the Seven- Year Plan is a document prepared by Viktor Zhukov, a young economist in the Financial Research Institute of the USSR Ministry of Finance. This translation is of special interest to American readers in that it presents the Soviet viewpoint on the highly important question of using the national income to raise the standard of living.
Zhukov, who is 30, majored in economics at the Moscow State University. He did graduate work at the Institute of Economics of the USSR Academy of Sciences. His master's thesis is entitled, "Problems of Large-Scale Production in the Soviet Economy."
