Growing up in New York, and having a very New York family -- my grandmother was very into the arts -- we went to the theatre a lot. When we would see a Broadway show, I always got a special jittery feeling when the audience would applaud at curtain call. That feeling always translated into one thought: " Gosh, I could do that. I would love to do that." I still have that same feeling when I go to the theatre today as an audience member. It's a very sacred type of feeling that I don't experience anywhere else.
