I always had excess energy. I started out singing and I was really loud, so they had to put me somewhere. So I sang in choirs. In high school I was going to be a doctor or lawyer, and I would act as a hobby. I went to a university that had a wonderful bachelors program in theatre. I think I must have secretly known that. I signed up for theatre as my major just on the premise that I could get into the classes. Two years later, I was completely engrossed. I kept pretending it was a hobby until I couldn't pretend anymore.
