Robert is originally from Houston, Texas. He attended Carnegie Mellon University, and he has been pursuing acting for forty years. At the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, Robert has performed in Below the Belt and portrayed Elyot in Private Lives. He performed Macbeth, and Iago in Othello at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis. He also delighted audiences in Candide at the Roundabout Theatre in New York, as well as Cyrano de Bergerac and Uncle Vanya at the Great Lakes Theatre Festival. He has appeared on Broadway and in Los Angeles in Love Letters (with his late wife Elizabeth Montgomery). Robert has starred in such television movies as With Murder in Mind, Face to Face, Double Standard, Mrs. Sundance, and Questor. His feature films include John Frankenheimer Prophecy and the acclaimed The Black Marble. He also played Chase Gioberti for six years on Falcon Crest, and has guest starred on Picket Fences, a two-part Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Outer Limits, and The Lazarus Man. He is now doing NBC's Lateline. Robert is the recipient of the Hollywood Dramalogue Critics Award for outstanding achievement in theatre and the Theatre World Award in New York.
