I was truly Sorry to hear of the Death of my good Friend your Consort Collo Custis & do Sincerely Console with you for so great a loss but to the Almightys will we must Submitt. I wrote him of the 21 June wch no doubt came to your hand and to whch refer. This Serves to inclose you Invoice p Goods p The Gildart to order as So on acc of Mr Jos Valentine. both sums to the Debt of Mr Custis acc agreeable to order which I wish may be delivered safe & to content by the Hare. I have held five hhds Tobo You were pleased to Consign me but not any letter which I impute to the Affliction you must be under. Please to be assured nothing in my Power shall be wanting for your most advantage for the Sale. & if you are pleased to Honr me with a Continuance of your Friendship you shall ever find me ready to render you the best Services in my Power. We had a brisk demand for Tobo before the Fleet Arrived In which I sold most of the Gildarts Cargo but as Its not quite finished must defer sending the Accounts till the Spring. When I intend a vessell for York River the Price for Tobo are from 2d p to 3 1/4 p & hope wont be lower. This will be delivered you by Capt Mulloy1 toward whoes dispatch your kind assistance will much Oblige.
