HOW TO HELP EARLY LEARNERS TAKE THEIR FIRST STEPS INTO THE 3 Rs

For early learners who are well prepared, the first steps into reading, writing, and arithmetic are enjoyable and rewarding. In just minutes a day, you can individualize and personalize your instruction to help each child progress at his or her individual pace through these first steps into early learning of the 3 Rs.


Teach Each Beginning Reader Four Words

Each child who can benefit from early reading instruction will learn to recognize these four words: (a) his or her own first name, (b) the word Mommy, (c) the word called, and (d) your name. The child can also learn to read these four words in sentences.


Help Each Child Write a Personalized Storybook

You can make an author out of each child who helps with the writing of a personalized book. By using just the words that he or she can recognize from wordcards, the child can create an easy-to-read story that features a personal choice treat.


Connect Familiar Initial Letters With Their Sounds

The words on each child's four wordcards are the instructional materials for your first steps in phonics. These words are familiar. With your excellent teach-
