∙ How the Librarian Can Help With Your Early 3 Rs Program |
When you started your early 3 Rs program, you wrote a lot of individualized, personalized books for your children. No doubt you were their favorite author of stories they could actually read. Perhaps they loved the counting books you helped them make even more than the counting books from the library you read aloud to them. You have made sure that your early learners are firmly rooted in the basics of reading, writing, and arithmetic.
But now, thanks to your excellent teaching, some of your pupils can start to spread their wings as learners by independently reading easy library books. Here's how you can make sure an early learner will be successful at reading a book he or she has never seen before.
