These books are an excellent resource for teachers in the elementary grades. There is a real need for such pertinent information at a time when drug education has become essential in schools. I distributed the texts among 5th-grade students, and they were so fascinated by the material that they could not put the books down. I also utilized the materials in discussion with the youngsters in my early primary class. I was impressed with the fact that some issues not usually addressed in classroom materials were dealt with in a head-on, assertive manner. A good example is the issue of babies born to drug-addicted mothers. I found the books to be superior and of high-interest value for use with youngsters in grades three through six. Hats off to the writers and publishers of the Drug-Alert series for achieving such a high level of quality in material dealing with the painful issues of drug and other types of dependencies.-- Sandra Freeman, OurLady of Sorrows School, Takoma Park, MD
