ROY M. MERSKY is Hyder Centennial Professor of Law and director of research at the University of Texas at Austin Law School. He is the author of many articles on law and library science.
LOUIS H. POLLAK was Dean of the Yale Law School from 1965 to 1970 and from 1978 on served as a United States judge for the Eastern District. He is the author of The Constitution and the Supreme Court: A Documentary History.
LOUIS FILLER was professor of American civilization at Antioch College. Among his many published works are The Crusade Against Slavery, 1830-1860 and The Dictionary of American Conservatism.
FRANK OTTO GATELL was professor of history at the University of California at Los Angeles. He is the author of John Gorham Palfrey and the New England Conscience.
WILLIAM GILLETTE is professor of history at Rutgers University. He is the author of a number of books, among them Retreat from Reconstruction, 1869-1879.
