Section 3 gives the reader an opportunity to apply the themes reviewed in chapters 1 through 6 to cases. The chapters in this section address a variety of settings. Chapter 7, “Case Study Method,” introduces the considerations and methods involved in case selection and construction. Ten case studies (chapters 8 through 17) have been strategically selected to reflect a wide range of settings, services, and population groups. The capacity enhancement principles and methods at work in each are highlighted and detailed in hopes of bringing this concept to life in work with the correctionally supervised. These cases specifically focus on people of color, both male and female, young as well as adult. Chapter 18, “Reflections on Case Studies,” summarizes key aspects of the case studies.
